WHAT ARE HORIZONTAL RADIATORS BEST FOR?

Horizontal radiators are great for any room of your home but are particularly handy for bedrooms and living rooms as their smaller heights are ideal for sitting neatly under windows. An open-plan kitchen or dining room design could be complemented by a statement horizontal radiator. Similarly, a small, horizontal radiator could be the perfect way to heat hallways and landings and even give your bathroom spa-like warmth and luxury.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SINGLE AND DOUBLE RADIATORS?

A Single Radiator is a radiator consisting of one set of panels or tubes, slim in depth and with a less powerful heat output. A Double Radiator is the same radiator, with an additional panel or set of tubes repeated on the back of the radiator. Double Radiators are usually chunkier in depth and have an increased heat output. Simply put, the more material and surface area a radiator has, the higher the heat output.

SHOULD I BUY A SINGLE OR DOUBLE HORIZONTAL RADIATOR?

By working out the amount of heat your room will need, you can compare this figure to the heat outputs of the single and double versions of the radiators you like. If you need a higher heat output, a double radiator is usually the way to go. If you need to boost the heat in your hallway, landing or bathroom, a single horizontal radiator is a great way to achieve this.

SHOULD I CHOOSE A HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL RADIATOR?

There is no definitive answer to this question. To decide you need to consider how much heat you need and how you want your room to look. Does your radiator need to fit under a window or in a small space? Is there a slim space on the wall where a vertical model might fit better? Would a wider, horizontal model look better than a vertical one?
