STRAIGHT VALVE FAQs
WHAT IS A STRAIGHT VALVE?
A Straight Valve is a valve with straight, vertical pipework, with the lockshield and TRV head in the centre of the pipework.
WHAT RADIATORS ARE STRAIGHT VALVES USED FOR?
Straight Valves are great for radiators where the pipework connections exit the radiator directly underneath the bottom of your radiator, for easy connection to pipework coming up from your floor. They are best used with towel radiators and radiators with underneath connections.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MANUAL STRAIGHT VALVE AND A THERMOSTATIC STRAIGHT VALVE?
A manual Straight Valve is a simple on/off valve. Radiators with manual valves will turn on with your central heating and turn off when it goes off, which is ideal for smaller radiators or bathroom radiators. Thermostatic valves allow you to control the flow of water into your radiator, turning the valve from 1 to 5, thus allowing you to control the temperature of your radiator.
